March 4, 2018 - 11:45am - 1:30pm

The United Methodist Women of CUMC will welcome everyone to a brunch meal in the Chapel on Sunday, March 4, following the 10:30 worship service.  Hot dishes, sweet breads, fruit, and beverages will be provided.  A donation of $5.00 per person to UMW will give you a delicious and enjoyable after-church brunch and social time.

An informative program will follow with a focus on the issue of Domestic Abuse/Violence.  Our presenters will be our own CUMC staff members, Lita and Vea Ofa, who are very much involved in community service, presenting information and resources to combat Domestic Abuse/Violence.  Utah statistics show that 1 in 3 women will be victims at some time in their lives – and generally the perpetrator is someone in their immediate family, a close relative, or someone they know and believe they can trust.

We encourage everyone to come and be better informed about strategies to combat this problem.  Learn why and how to report a concern and what safeguards are in place for those who report.  We all tend to think such concerns will never touch us or those we love, but it is important to be aware of the signs of a problem and to know how to respond in a positive way.
